Join the Equity Center and affinity programs -- BASE, NASSSP, ALMA del Lago -- for a special Women's History Month Movie Night featuring Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A film directed by Sacramento State alum, Ryan Coogler -- STINGERS UP! This community-centered event invites students to come together to celebrate the strength, resilience, leadership, and impact of women across cultures and communities through the powerful storytelling of film.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever highlights themes of intelligence, courage, unity, leadership, and perseverance, while showcasing the influential roles women play in shaping their communities, protecting their people, and leading during times of challenge and transformation. The film centers strong female characters whose leadership and resilience reflect the broader spirit of Women's History Month -- honoring the contributions, voices, and achievements of women throughout history and today.
This event is designed to create a welcoming space for students to connect, reflect, and engage in community while enjoying a meaningful film experience. Whether you are attending to celebrate Women's History Month, learn more about the film's themes, or simply spend time with fellow students, all members of the FLC community are welcome to join.
