Honors Courses and Certificate
Learn more about CRC Honors courses and the CRC Honors Certificate.
To be eligible for the CRC Honors Certificate, a student must complete 15 units of Honors-approved coursework. Two sorts of coursework count as Honors-approved for this purpose:
- Honors Coursework
- CRC honors coursework
- Other Los Rios honors coursework (ARC, FLC, and SCC honors courses)
- 400s level STEM coursework from any of the Los Rios colleges (CRC, ARC, FLC, or SCC)
See a list of CRC honors courses (i.e., CRC honors coursework).
There is no maximum to the number of units from CRC honors courses a student may apply towards the satisfaction of the 15-unit Honors Certificate requirement. (All 15 units could be from CRC Honors courses.) However, a minimum of 9 of the 15 units must be earned by successfully completing honors courses at Cosumnes River College.
There is a maximum to the number of ARC, FLC, and SCC honors units a student may apply towards the certificate. A student may apply no more than 6 units from ARC, FLC, and SCC honors to the completion of the certificate requirements.
There is a maximum to the number of 400s level STEM units a student may apply towards the certificate. A student may apply the units from no more than one 400s level STEM course towards the satisfaction of the 15-unit Honors Certificate requirement. There is no minimum number of 400s level STEM course units a student must apply towards the certificate. A student can earn the certificate without completing any 400s level STEM courses.
There is a combined maximum of 6 units from a 400s level STEM course and ARC, FLC, and SCC honors units a student may apply towards the certificate. Again, a minimum of 9 of the 15 units must be from CRC Honors courses.
