Enrollment Eligibility
Students that are entering this field need to be aware that some persons due to past incidents with law enforcement or other legal entities may be unable to work with certain populations due to background restrictions. Please consult with the Dean of the Department and the SWHS Department Chair for further questions.
To be eligible for enrollment in either the Associate of Science or Certificate of Achievement in Social Work and Human Services, students must:
- Attend an Orientation session with the Department Chair (Offered at the end of fall/spring semester).
- Complete an Education Plan with a CRC Counselor (Ray Mapeso, Teresa Aldredge or Alex Kagan).
- Complete the Canvas Online Learning System and Online Learning Readiness Tutorials found at CRC's Online Education.
- Communicate effectively with English-speaking individuals.
- Be able to perform the physical demands in the externship.
- Complete the application process for enrollment in the SWHS program.
- Fulfill all requirements set forth by the CRC Allied Health Practicum Guidelines including, but not limited to: background clearance, physical examination, CPR Certification, immunization clearance, and drug screenings.
