Join Cosumnes River College voice student, Jianna Eugenio, in a performance that will invite you on a musical journey into the technicolor palette of the human experience. Accompanied by pianist Dr. Narmina Sultanova, the program will enthrall hearts and ears with pieces by illustrious American composers of musical theatre, cabaret, and art song: Kurt Weill, Marc Blizstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Bock, Jule Styne, William Bolcom, and Ricky Ian Gordon.
Mezzo-soprano and Sacramento native, Jianna Eugenio is a student of the Cosumnes River College Music Program with an emphasis in vocal performance. During her time in the program, Eugenio served as section leader and assistant choral director in vocal ensembles, a featured vocalist for the Los Rios Community College District Honor Jazz Band, and was awarded four music scholarships, including the Dr. Precious Bell Craft Memorial Scholarship, and the Nina Simone Music In Action Scholarship. Working with baritone and Professor of Vocal Music, Omari Tau, Eugenio continues to build a repertoire of various styles that honor her versatile artistry.
As a singer-songwriter, Eugenio previously appeared on the PBS program, Celebration of Music, where she shared her musical journey with artists across America. Her horizons also expand to the world of theatre, having performed in productions at CRC River Stage, and in the community with Light Opera Theatre Sacramento, and Rogue Music Project.
Ms. Eugenio is joined on the program with CRC faculty member, acclaimed pianist, Dr. Narmina Sultanova.
This is in partial fulfillment of MUP 495 Independent Studies and MUIVI 321 Voice Class IV.
