College Center Renovation

CRC's College Center Cosumnes River College's new College Center building under construction.

Cosumnes River College broke ground on the College Center expansion project in August 2018.

The expansion will become a one-stop shop for new and returning students to take care of anything they may need to start their semester off right at Cosumnes River College.

“When you think of it through the lens of a brand new student, you currently come in and go to Admissions & Records, then we have to direct you to the library for financial aid and you come back to pay your fees and then back to the library to see a counselor, you’re going to different places across the college; it’s difficult for us to hand you off right. Once the expansion is completed, you’ll be able to get all of these services in one location,” said CRC President Edward Bush.

Students will find a brand new information desk in the new expansion as well.

“We are hoping to create a new social space for our students, where they can relax, study, get to know other students and just have a gathering place where ideas and conversation takes place,” Bush added.

The college’s student services staff hopes the new expansion will be a lot more functional and efficient for students to get the assistance they need to have a successful start to their semester.

The 30,000 gross square foot, two-story addition is expected to be completed by December 2019, with departments moving into the new facility during the spring semester, 2020.

The $21 million project is funded by local bond measure M passed by the taxpayers served by the Los Rios Community College District and some funds from the college.
