The Nucleus: A Biology Study Zone is an academic support space for students currently enrolled in a CRC biology course. Students are welcome to use the space as a quiet place to study, work independently, meet with a small study group, ask questions, and connect with biology faculty for academic support.
Nucleus hours:
- Mondays and Wednesdays: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Tuesdays: 1:35 to 2:30 pm
- Thursdays: 1:35 to 2:00 pm, and 4:20 to 5:20 pm
Location: Science Building, SCI-206
Please note: The Nucleus is not an open lab space. Laboratory materials and equipment may not be used while in the Biology Study Zone. The space is intended for studying, group work, academic support, and connecting with biology faculty.
Biology Tutoring Through MESA
Through a campus-based partnership between The Nucleus and the MESA Center, students currently enrolled in select 400-level biology courses may also request biology tutoring through the MESA Center. This opportunity is available to students regardless of their MESA eligibility.
MESA tutoring is limited to select 400-level biology courses and is subject to tutor availability and scheduling. Current courses that may be eligible for tutoring support include:
- BIOL 400 – Principles of Biology
- BIOL 410 – Principles of Botany
- BIOL 420 – Principles of Zoology
- BIOL 430 – Anatomy and Physiology I
- BIOL 431 – Anatomy and Physiology II
- BIOL 440 – General Microbiology
