TRACES: Curtis Bartone, Glenn Grishkoff, Luciano Pimienta
TRACES explores the works of artists Curtis Barton, Luciano Pimienta, and Glenn Grishkoff through the lens of printmaking, sculpture, installation, and performance.
The work presented here each distinctively explores a form of duplication as process of personal connection and understanding. Through a variety of methodology, there is a reoccurrence of self-reflection on the relationships between humans and nature.
Using natural materials and iconography as subject and medium, their works leave marks and traces of time, culture, experience, and nature lost or transformed. The works confront the complexity of understanding our personal and collective human experience and how that relates to the land and nature surrounding us across history and borders.
In this exhibition, examination of the intersections and overlapping of humans and the natural world serves as a form of understanding, homage, healing and redemption. Significantly, it creates space for the viewer to engage in their own personal reflection on human experience in the physical world and the process and possibilities of coexistence with their surroundings.
