Dual Enrollment
Paving the way from high school or adult school to higher education.
Dual Enrollment (DuE) is a program that allows current high school and adult school students (enrolled in a program to earn their high school diploma or GED) to take classes at Cosumnes River College. Dual Enrollment students may enroll in 11 units each semester (across the Los Rios district).
Our vision is to equitize students' access to and success in higher education – especially those from historically underserved populations in the greater Sacramento region – by providing clear and attainable pathways into Los Rios and beyond.

General Education vs. Career Education Dual Enrollment
There are two types of dual enrollment: Career Education (CE) Dual Enrollment and General Education (GE) Dual Enrollment. CE Dual Enrollment differs from GE Dual Enrollment in a few important ways:
- CE Dual Enrollment courses are funded by the Strong Workforce grant.
- Students enrolled in CE Dual Enrollment courses are on a pathway to complete two or more courses in one CE subject, leading to a certificate.
- CE Dual Enrollment courses traditionally have slightly smaller class sizes.
- Because of the smaller class sizes and the limited number of sections offered, students have an outreach success team that monitors CE Dual Enrollment students' progress.
