About the Library
The Library is committed to student success, ensuring that every student has access to the resources, skills, and support they need to thrive at CRC. The Library provides student-centered services that engage students, provide point-of-need assistance, and are integral to their educational success. The Library also offers welcoming spaces conducive to study and research needs.
Librarians and staff actively collaborate with the college community to support teaching and learning both in and out of the classroom, improve student equity, and increase student success. Librarians develop and maintain dynamic, responsive, and balanced collections that support curriculum across disciplines, academic levels, and formats. Librarians provide research and information literacy instructional services to help students develop essential critical thinking skills and to support them as they complete their coursework.
The library advances the mission of Cosumnes River College and supports the educational, career, and life goals of our students by providing current and relevant information, collections, resources, and instruction to the college’s diverse community.
Vision
The library provides information resources and teaches critical thinking and information literacy skills essential to our students’ educational endeavors, careers, and experience as lifelong information consumers and creators.
Values
The library provides open and equitable access to information to the college community. We collaborate with our colleagues to support all disciplines, programs, and viewpoints. We work to create a multi-format library collection that is accurate, fair, diverse, relevant, comprehensive, and current.
