Home Academics Music Department

The CRC Music Department offers a stimulating environment where our faculty mentor students who are motivated to pursue their musical interests. All are invited to play or sing in one of our many student ensembles, including Contemporary Gospel Choir, Chamber Singers, College Chorus, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Concert Band, Composition Ensemble Workshop and Commercial Music Ensemble. Students may also study Guitar, Piano, and Voice, as well as choose from courses in Music Production, Improvisation, Composition, History, Music Education, and World Music. Music majors study with renowned professional musicians and receive private lessons in our one-of-a-kind Applied Music lesson program. Our two-year degrees and one-year certificate programs provide unique training opportunities that can help students transfer to prestigious four-year institutions or begin work in the field immediately. Be a part of the art, today!

So You Want to Be a Music Major?

Music is a lifelong adventure. Our programs will provide you with the important first steps toward achieving your goals. To successfully complete any of the Certificate Programs, the AA-T Degree or AA Degree Programs, we highly recommend that students follow the Program Maps on the Music Program page.

CRC's two-year music program provides students with a foundation in Music Theory and Musicianship, Music History, and Music Performance with specializations in either instrumental or voice studies, including string and keyboard instruments. Registered Music Majors may begin this specialization by auditioning for Applied Music (MUIVI 410), the heart of the program and where students gain proficiency through weekly private lessons.
