The Veterinary Technology application opens during the spring semester for admission the following fall.
The application period for Fall 2025 Veterinary Technology classes will begin January 13, 2025 and close June 16, 2025.
Counselor Approval of Prerequisites Taken at Other Colleges
The following are the prerequisite course requirements for admission to the Veterinary Technology program:
- High school graduate or equivalent (for example, GED)
- Biology 400 college level equivalent with a grade of “C” or better
- Biology 440 or college level equivalent, with a grade of “C” or better
- Chemistry 305 or 400 or college level equivalent, with a grade of “C” or better
If you have taken a prerequisite course outside of CRC, it is your responsibility to verify course equivalency:
- You must obtain your college’s course description from your online college catalog and email the description to the Veterinary Technology liaison counselor at Cosumnes River College.
- The counselor will review your information and email you approval of the equivalency or an explanation of non-acceptance of your prerequisite courses.
- The current liaison counselor email information may be obtained by contacting the counseling center at crc-counseling@crc.losrios.edu.
Upload a copy of the counselor's approval email when submitting your online application.
Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts and a copy of your high school diploma (or equivalent) must be uploaded with your online application.
Official (unopened) transcripts, showing the required prerequisite courses with a grade of “C” or better, and your high school diploma/GED must be delivered to the Admissions and Records Department by the first day of the fall semester.
Please refer to CRC’s Submit Transcripts and Test Scores page for details on how to send your transcripts and diploma.
Re-application
If you previously applied to the Veterinary Technology Program and were not accepted, you must submit a new application. If there are more applicants than openings in the program, acceptance will be based on a random lottery process from among the qualified applicants. Only students who meet the educational prerequisites for the Veterinary Technology program and follow the pre-enrollment procedures will be considered for admission. Meeting all the requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Orientation
All accepted students must attend the Veterinary Technology Orientation Day and the first day of classes. Failure to do so may result in the student being dropped from the program. The orientation date, time, and place will be announced upon acceptance.
Notification of Acceptance
All applicants will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance via email.
If you have questions, please email the program director, Dr. Scott Haskell at: haskels@crc.losrios.edu.
