Echoes of Perception: Essays on Vision
The newest exhibit at the CRC Art Gallery focuses on the relationship between creativity, insight and accessibility through the works of photographer Doug Winter, a semi-sighted photographic artist who is on a mission to explore the intricate relationship between impaired vision, accessibility, memory, color, and light.
Opening October 12 and running through November 16, Winter's project, presented in three languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, and English, offers a unique opportunity to engage with his captivating body of work.
As October marks Blindness Awareness Month in the United States, artists like Doug Winter, whose inventive approach to art challenges conventional notions and invites audiences to embrace the beauty of blurred lines and fragmented memories.
The recipient of the 2023 National Endowment for the Arts-funded project, "Echoes of Perception: Essays on Vision," Winter's artistic approach is as unconventional as it is inspiring.
