CRC Hawk Talk Alumni Newsletter – September 2024
Welcome from Cosumnes River College President Dr. Edward Bush
Dear Alumni,
As the President of Cosumnes River College (CRC), I want to welcome you to your new source of alumni information, Hawk Talk. This newsletter is designed to keep you connected with the vibrant CRC community! Whether you graduated recently or many years ago, your experiences and achievements enrich our college’s legacy.!
In this issue, you’ll discover how CRC has increased access to resources to ensure students stay on the path to graduation and ways to support students on their journey. We invite you to engage with us, share your own successes, and reconnect with the college that helped shape your path.
Thank you for being an essential part of the CRC family. CRC’s students succeed when they feel supported and have a sense of belonging, and that shouldn't end once they graduate, transfer, or complete a class.
Together, let’s celebrate our shared history and look forward to a bright future!
Go Hawks!

Center for Inclusion and Belonging
The Center for Inclusion and Belonging (CIB) empowers students to explore, affirm, and celebrate their individual and intersectional identities and define success for themselves. Each center and program promote a sense of belonging and develops student leadership to work toward social change on campus and in the community.
Hawk CARES Program
At the Hawk CARES Center, we are committed to promoting a sense of belonging and justice. Through a holistic approach, we offer basic assistance and referrals to address essential needs like food, housing, and financial security. Our goal is to ensure that from the first contact, enrolled students gain access to crucial resources and are connected to long-term support to achieve their goals. Services provided in the Hawk CARES Center include the Hawk Spot Food Market, Homes for Hawks, The Hawk CARES Career Closet, and more.
Work Experience Internships: Employer Resources
The Work Experience Internship Program is a unique academic program where students apply what they have learned in the classroom to a work environment – all while earning college credit. One resource available to our students is Handshake, a job and internship platform for students. If you are an employer and have open internships and positions, learn more about Handshake.
