Cosumnes River College offers associate degrees for transfer (commonly called AD-T) to the California State University (CSU) system. AD-T is classified as either an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or an Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T); both are types of transfer degrees. Transfer degrees provide a clear pathway to attend a CSU and get a bachelor's degree.
Transfer Degree Guarantee
Students who earn an AD-T degree are guaranteed:
- Admission to a CSU with junior standing
- Priority admission consideration 1 to their local CSU campus or to a program that is similar to their community college major
1 This priority does not guarantee admission to specific majors or campuses.
Students who have been awarded an AD-T can complete their remaining requirements for the 120-unit baccalaureate degree within 60 semester or 90 quarter units at a CSU campus.
Transfer Degree Requirements
AD-T degrees require the following:
- Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter CSU-transferable units, including both of the following:
- One of the following GE patterns (check with your counselor to determine the appropriate pattern for the degree you are pursuing):
- The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) 2
- The CSU General Education Requirements
- A minimum of 18 semester or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the college
- One of the following GE patterns (check with your counselor to determine the appropriate pattern for the degree you are pursuing):
- Obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 in 60 CSU-transferable units. AD-T degrees also require that students must earn a C or better in all courses used in the major or area of emphasis. Pass grades can be used from colleges where Pass denotes a C or better.
2If using IGETC, Area 1C Oral Communication must be completed to satisfy the AD-T.
