You can guarantee your admission to one of the 6 TAG-participating UCs:
- UC Davis
- UC Irvine
- UC Merced
- UC Riverside
- UC Santa Barbara
- UC Santa Cruz
To do so, you will have to fill out your UC Transfer Admissions Planner (UC TAP). The key to the UC TAP is to be as accurate as possible to ensure your UC TAG eligibility.
Students will submit their UC TAG a year before they plan on transferring during the month of September (1 through 30) for the following Fall. Many resources are available to assist you through the UC TAG process including workshops and information sessions.

UC TAG Frequently Asked Questions
Yes.
You must report all colleges in which a transcript has been generated and there is coursework represented on that transcripts. This is regardless of the grades or notations (i.e. W, EW, I, Repeats, Academic Renewals, etc.) on that transcript and/or if the coursework is transferable to UC.
You will have to do this for all Los Rios campuses you have attended as well.
Yes.
You must report all coursework from all colleges attended for each semester you attended that college campus. You will need to report your grades accurately. Basically, you are transcribing your transcripts into the UC TAP for the purposes of the UC TAG. Your UC TAP/TAG should look identical to your transcripts.
As per the UC TAP:
Add all college and university courses (including summer session and extension courses) for all terms you have attempted or completed (including courses you repeated), regardless of grade or length of attendance. Enter your grades exactly as they appear on your records. Be sure to include any courses that are currently in progress or planned for future terms.
Yes.
You will want to include any coursework you are currently in-progress with for the Fall and plan to take in the Spring. Instead of putting a grade, the UC TAP will allow you to indicate that the coursework is in-progress or planned. Again, see notation per the UC TAP above.
No.
Do not leave your Spring semester blank if you still have coursework to take during that term. The class schedule for Spring will not be available at the time the UC TAG is due for Fall. Due to this fact, go with what you are planning to take and where you are planning to take those classes even though we are not 100% sure that those classes will be offered.
Take a look at your education plan completed with a Counselor or talk to a Counselor to determine what your Spring courses should be. The UC knows that this is what you are planning to do, but they also know that plans change. There are additional opportunities through the UC Admissions Application to update your Spring coursework after you submit your UC TAG in September.
If you truly have nothing to take because you have completed everything (major prep, GE, admissions requirements) then you will need to state why you have no courses planned for Spring.
In the month of September (1 through 30) a year before you plan on transferring.
For example, students who plan on transferring for Fall of 2025 would submit their UC TAG in September of 2024. If you are thinking of transferring in Winter/Spring, there are some UC campuses that accept UC TAGs during the month of May.
Check in the UC TAP for the schools that accept TAG for Winter/Spring.
Yes.
You will still need to apply to the UC campus that you have a TAG with as well as with any other UC (or CSU or private/independent or out-of-state school) during the application filing period.
Yes.
If you are a CRC student, the CRC Transfer Center can review your UC TAG prior to you submitting it.
Please read and understand all the information on the UC TAG Review Request form. Also, beware of the UC TAG Review deadline located on the form.
