If you are enrolled, waitlisted, or considering enrollment in the Work Experience Program (WEXP) at Cosumnes River College, there are steps you must take to stay enrolled and successfully earn college credit for your job, internship, or volunteer role.

What You Need to Do

To stay enrolled and earn credit, you must:

  1. Secure a qualifying site by the end of the first week of class
  2. Submit the Employer Agreement Request Form
  3. Attend one required orientation session

Once the semester begins, be sure to complete all course requirements.

Step 1: Secure a Qualifying Site

Your job, internship, or volunteer role must help you learn, grow, and explore your future goals. To qualify, your site must:

  • Align with your academic or career goals
  • Offer opportunities to build new or advanced skills
  • Have a direct supervisor who is willing and able to sign forms
  • Allow you to complete the required hours

Not sure if your site qualifies? Need help finding a site? Visit the WEXP Program page and click Make an Appointment. We’ll figure it out together.

Step 2: Submit the Employer Agreement Request Form

Once your site is confirmed:

Your employer agreement must be submitted by the end of the first week of the semester. Because it can take time for your supervisor to complete the agreement, submit it as early as possible. Check the Employer Agreement FAQ for more info.

Step 3: Attend Orientation

You must attend one required orientation session, either an in-person session on campus or an online session via Zoom. During orientation, you’ll:

  • Learn how the program works
  • Meet your instructor
  • Ask questions and get support

No RSVP needed. Just show up and be on time.
