On August 3, 2021, the Los Rios Board of Trustees voted to implement a COVID-19 vaccine requirement plan for all students and employees who access district facilities. See Reopening Los Rios for more information.
Cosumnes River College encourages students to enroll in CRC courses through the Advanced Education program. Concurrently enrolled high school students earn college credit and get a jumpstart on classes that may apply toward a certificate or degree at Cosumnes River College and/or transfer to a four-year college or university.
Application Deadlines:
Spring 2022: Accepting applications for Spring beginning November 1, 2021 and ending at 10:00 am on January 7, 2022.
Eligibility
Advanced Education students must meet the following criteria:
- You are 16 years old, or you have already completed 10th grade by the first day college classes start
- You are currently enrolled in high school (public, private, or home school)
- Students must be mature enough to understand the course material and to benefit from the presentation style
- Students are required to read and understand all requirements as set forth on page two of the Advanced Education application

Note: applications are only accepted during the open application window.
First-Time Students
First-time students should complete the online application for Cosumnes River College. Indicate you are an Advanced Education student: “enrolling in high school and college at the same time”. You will be emailed your Los Rios ID number upon completing the application IF you included a Social Security Number or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN)*

Elk Grove Unified School District Students
If you are an Elk Grove Unified School District student, launch the application through the California Colleges website.
Continuing Students
Complete the Supplemental Enrollment form on Los Rios eServices.
Undocumented Students
Undocumented students can contact the Dream Center at (916) 691-7447 or CRC-DreamCenter@crc.losrios.edu to process your application and obtain your Los Rios ID number once you submit your CRC application, prior to submitting your Advanced Education packet.
International Students
International students seeking to attend CRC under the Advanced Education program should first consult with their high school international student advisor to determine if the CRC coursework will be appropriate. International students are responsible for paying non-resident tuition, enrollment, and Universal Transit Pass (UTP) fees in addition to the student representation and health services fees (for fall and spring semesters). Other conditions may apply. For a description of fees see Tuition and Fees.
- Schedule an appointment to meet with your HS counselor to determine which classes you are eligible to take.
- Complete the Advanced Education Application, typed only. Be sure the application is completed thoroughly with the 5-digit course number and course title for the classes you wish to take.
- Do not fill out the application in your internet browser window. The application is a fillable PDF; you must save the application to your computer before filling it out in order to save your information.
- Obtain parent/legal guardian signature (typed signature ok)
- Complete the form, then obtain school principal or designated counselor/administrator signature (electronic signature or certified signature with time-stamp required)
Note: CRC staff and faculty cannot recommend courses for Advanced Education.
**If you are home schooled or enrolled in a high school where transcripts are not available, please provide a record of completed course work, achievement level, and grade level. If your school is not listed on the California Department of Education's School Directory website, please also include a copy of the private school affidavit submitted to the State or County Office of Education to document the student’s involvement in an educational process.
If a prerequisite is required for a course the student is requesting, you may use completed High School course work or test results from AP exam scores. Upload the test results as a PDF file to the Advanced Education submission form (step 4). In-progress coursework is not eligible for placement into CRC Math or English courses, and cannot be used to meet prerequisites. For information on math and English placement, please see the Assessment Center's Placement webpage for more details.
Note: Assessment testing is no longer available for math and English.
Advanced Education Submission Form
- All information must be completed on this submission form in order to submit the Advanced Education Application and required attachments.
- Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed, or approved.
- All attachments must be in PDF format. The Advanced Education application must be attached in PDF format. Pictures/photos of documents will not be accepted.
- Processing time is up to 15 business days. Advanced Education students will receive a priority 3 enrollment date.
- It is the students' responsibility to ensure that the packet is accurate and complete.
Once your packet is reviewed, you will receive an email notifying you of your application status.
If approved: The Admissions and Records (A&R) office will complete your course enrollment based on your enrollment dates and send you an email confirmation. Log in to your eServices account to see your enrollment appointment.
If denied: The Counseling office will notify you of the denial and explain the appeal process. For students who choose to appeal a denied application, submit the Advanced Education Petition Form.
Vaccination Documentation
Cosumnes River College requires evidence of a first COVID-19 vaccine dose for all students who access district and college facilities (including in-person classes or student support services). To learn how to upload your proof of vaccination, see COVID Vaccine Requirements.
Payments and Fees
Once enrolled: Pay the UTP (Universal Transit Pass) and student representation fees. For a description of fees see Tuition and Fees.

You will need to submit PDF documents with your application. Follow these instructions for converting an image to a PDF on your computer or mobile device.
Option 1: Follow these steps on your computer (Google Chromebook or Windows):
- Open the picture
- Right click on the picture; a task bar will open
- Select Print from the task bar
- Select Adobe PDF as the print method
- Save the PDF under the correct name in a folder on your computer
Option 2: Use the freeimage-to-PDF converter on the Adobe webpage.
Option 3: From your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open Notes and select a note or create a new one
- Tap the Camera button, then tap Scan Documents
- Place your document in view of the camera
- If your device is in Auto mode, your document will automatically scan. If you need to manually capture a scan, tap the Shutter button or one of the Volume buttons. Then drag the corners to adjust the scan to fit the page, then tap Keep Scan.
- Tap Save or add additional scans to the note.
- On the note itself, or on the individual scans inside the note, click the upload/share icon to save to a local drive or email to yourself to save on your computer.
- Find the course you would like to take in the Class Schedule.
- Make sure to check if the class is going to be asynchronous or synchronous and choose accordingly.
- You cannot include courses from campuses other than CRC on your course list.

No. LRCCD policy states that students cannot enroll in courses requiring repetition due to unsatisfactory grades (D or F) received at the student’s high school.
Your application must be signed by your principal or an authorized signer. If the school official who signs your application is not on our list of designated signers, then they must provide a list of all authorized designees on school letterhead that is signed by the principal. If this is the case, then please include this list with your application. Applications that do not include this list will be denied.
Enrolled students can learn more about the array of academic accommodations and services appropriate in a college setting from Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS). You can directly enroll using the online DSPS application.
Yes! Advanced Education students who are classified as California residents are exempt from the enrollment fee.
