Note: New students who have already attended an enrollment orientation only need one session—no need to sign up for New Student Friday, but feel free to drop by for financial aid help!

This event is intended for first time college students.

Note: Once you’ve registered and are approved, you will receive an email confirmation for the workshop(s) that you have selected.

STEM Majors at CRC includes Biology, Pre-Nursing, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Studies and Sustainability, Geography, Geology, Mathematics and Statistics or Physics. It does not include Computer Science. This session is for students in these majors.

This session is curated for students who fall under the Business and Computer Science majors. These include Accounting, Business, Business Technology, Computer Information Science, Economics, Management, Marketing and Real Estate.

Sessions

New Student Orientation

Orientation and Enrollment sessions are two hours long. During these sessions, students will learn how to register for classes, read the class schedule, and navigate CRC’s systems. By the end of the session, students will be enrolled in their first-semester courses.

Financial Aid Drop-In

During this workshop CRC financial aid experts will assist you in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act (CADAA).

Financial support will be available from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Course Enrollment

You will automatically be placed in an enrollment session based on the orientation time you sign up for.

Campus Tours

As part of New Student Orientation and Financial Aid Friday, students will have the opportunity to take a 50-minute tour of key student support services at CRC. These services include:

  • EOPS (Extended Opportunity Programs and Services)
  • DSPS (Disabled Students Programs and Services)
  • Hawk Cares
  • MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement)
  • Tutoring / Math Center
  • Library

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the tour will take place outdoors and the weather may be warm.

Checklist

If you are approved to attend New Student Friday, please make sure to have the following:

  1. LRCCD student ID number. This number is also referred to as your W ID number. Lookup your student ID.
  2. LRCCD password. See Password Management for help.
  3. LRCCD PIN number. See the help video Using Your Student PIN for Remote Support.
  4. Your personal email address and password.

Parking and Directions

Please make sure to park in student designated spaces and avoid staff/faculty parking. Free parking available in parking lot B. New Student Friday will be held in the College Center, on the Center Parkway side of the building. See Parking and Maps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to attend all the sessions in my selected Rotations?

In order to enjoy the Tour of Services, we do need you to attend all the sessions in your selected Rotation.

Can I bring a guest into the sessions with me?

Unfortunately at this time, we are not allowing guests in the sessions with students.

Do I need to meet with a counselor before coming to Orientation?

No. Unless you are a student pursuing a certificate, we encourage you to meet with a counselor ahead of time to develop an Educational Plan for the fall semester. This plan will be referenced during course enrollment at Orientation.

What should I bring for the tour?

Comfortable shoes, water, hat.

What will the tour cover?

Services: EOPS, DSPS, MESA, Hawk Cares, Tutoring/Math Centers, Library.

What if I already signed up for my high school orientation?

Great! Just attend that session—no need to go to the New Student Friday Orientation. If you have Financial Aid questions, feel free to drop by the Financial Aid sessions—no registration needed!

What happens if I am late?

Sessions are available on a drop-in basis throughout the day as room is available. Check-in at designated tables in the College Center lobby.

Students who signed up for Orientation were sent an email. If you do not check-in by the time outlined, your spot will be released to another student.

I’m not sure which financial aid application to complete; what should I do?

Can my parent(s) or family members attend with me?

Due to capacity limits, guests cannot attend the Orientation or enrollment sessions.

Are masks required?

Masks are strongly recommended but not required in all district facilities, regardless of vaccination status. Los Rios supports any student or employee's choice to continue wearing a mask if it makes them more comfortable. See COVID-19 Updates.
