Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring a guest into the sessions with me?
Unfortunately at this time, we are not allowing guests in the sessions with students.
Do I need to meet with a counselor before coming to Orientation?
No. Unless you are a student pursuing a certificate, we encourage you to meet with a counselor ahead of time to develop an Educational Plan for the fall semester. This plan will be referenced during course enrollment at Orientation.
What if I already signed up for my high school orientation?
Great! You only need to attend that session—there is no need to attend the New Student Saturday Orientation.
If you have Financial Aid questions, feel free to drop in to the virtual Financial Aid sessions—no registration is required.
What happens if I am late?
Financial aid and application support sessions are available on a drop-in basis during the times listed above.
Students who registered for Orientation have been sent a confirmation email. Please note that if you do not check in by your scheduled time, you will need to reschedule for a future Orientation session.
I’m not sure which financial aid application to complete; what should I do?
Contact the Financial Aid office or Dream Center for assistance!
For those students who will be attending our Financial Aid workshop session, there will be staff available to share more information about Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act (CADAA).
I would like to see what type of questions are going to be asked on the FAFSA or CADAA ahead of time, how can I find this?
Review the paper application forms at the links below:
Can my parent(s) or family members attend with me?
Due to capacity limits, guests cannot attend the Orientation or enrollment sessions.
