Your Confidential Point of Contact (CPC)

Under California Senate Bill 1491 (SB 1491), every California Community College is required to designate an employee at each campus as a point of contact for the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, transgender, gender-nonconforming, intersex, and two-spirit (LGBTQIA+) faculty, staff and students. This point person for LGBTQIA+ individuals is in addition to the college’s Title IX point person.

• Get connected with help and resources — without automatically starting a formal process

What can the CPC do for you?

• Listen confidentially - nothing you share is reported unless you say so in writing.
• Give you clear information about campus policies, Title IX protections, and services.
• Connect you to the right offices or resources if you decide you want action taken.
• Support you first - no pressure, no surprises.

What doesn’t the CPC do?

• The CPC is not required to report sexual harassment to Title IX staff unless you provide formal, written consent.
• They do not investigate complaints or make decisions about policy violations.
• If the CPC is also a mandated reporter (for things like child abuse), they must still follow state law.
