Homeless Youth Success in Higher Education Act: AB 801 will help homeless youth* attempting to navigate the college admission processes. The bill will allow homeless youth to receive some of the same services and exemptions that are available to foster youth and former foster youth, such as priority enrollment and fee waivers with the goal of helping reduce barriers to college attendance due to lack of financial support and resources. AB 801 qualifies homeless youth to receive the same priority enrollment given to foster youth and former foster youth at Cosumnes River College and state universities and community colleges within California.
